We have an announcement to make.

For those who have talent, and wanna do a showcase and donno where to go to, here's a chance for you...

Grab your partners and form a group (can be up to 7 people per group) and inform us of your group name.

We will be having workshops to help polish a bit more of your talents/skills. What workshops you say?

We are going to have hosting, malay dance, theater and also singing.

Bowink you say???

Hey, you havent even tried a single workshop. How can you say that?

Anyway, its free. Refreshments will be provided during the workshops.

There will be a gig on the 6th December 2009. You will be performing on stage. Yeah, you read it correctly. It will be on a stage, with sound effects, lighting and all.

Best of all, if you are chosen, you will be performing for our Guest of Honour during the Graduation bit.

Don't worry. All you need is practice... practice... and more practice and you are ready to face the world.

Enough about the Talent Arena bit, here's more info about Camp Voyage.

The camp will be from 3rd-6th December 2009. Theme will be totally different this year. No more about talent tingy during camp (Fuuuh... dats a relief rite)

Anyway, theme is about leadership and I know its hard for normal people like us to got to leadership camps. Me too. Never been to any leadership camps organised by my school. Slogan is: 'Who says leadership camp cant be fun???'

If you have wat it takes to be a leader or you think you have the leadership thingy inside of you but was not given the opportunity, this is the best thing for you!!!

Best of all, you can also invite your friend to come along. But hey, dont say i never warn you. Its not a camp if you have to stick to your friend that you come with. You will be separated but this is the time for you to make new friends.

Dont worry about awkwardness and stuff. I know all of you will have a jolly great time there.

Oh yeah, a sneak peek at the final night. We will be celebrating so remember to bring some nice clothes.

Hello all and welcome to another update edition for our dear programme, Project Rentak Remaja. As you all know, June is the month holidays so any plans for the whole month?

Ouh, going overseas? Woah... Sho fun... Sho nice. I oso wanna go. Can I follow?

Anyway, currently we are thinking on what to do during the school holidays. If you have any ideas on what to do, do drop me an email and maybe we can take your suggestions into consideration. Dont worry, no ideas are bad or awful. We are really opening up to suggestions.

Ouh yarh, i've uploaded sum links at facebook. Its actually the same. Just continueing the thing. Have you all watched it? I try to watch it every now and then and once i've watched it, I will upload it.

BMX'09: Barrage Mania eXpedition 2009

Thank you all for coming. Thank you participants. I read all of your comments. Thank you for giving us your most honest comments and opinions. Appreciate it lots. Will improve our next night cycling event and make it as the most fun and happening event ever!!!~~

Here are some of the comments made:

we had to wait for quite sometime. Wasted most of our time waiting (have to agree that with you)
instructions given were not that clear (or you werent listening?)
distance was too short (hahahaha... i tink all of you are too excited to cycle looooooong distance)
safety comes first. it is also important to hear what participants have to say and try to understand (yes, safety first. Was there any issues during the event? Or you mean 2-way communication is important?)
Last year's night cycling more interesting (because the participants complained the distance was too long, and so we decided to cut it short for this year)

And lots more comments were given but I don't tink I have the time to type it all out.

We have a facebook group for P2R. Yessa, like finally. Really arh? Am I that slow to do it? Hahahahas... So, if anybody has facebook accounts, do remember to add us~

The graduation that was held @ Grassroots' Club on 7th February 2009 was a blast. Thank you all for coming.

For the graduates, CONGRATS!!! You rawk man!!! Do keep in touch with us. Really hope that you are able to continue supporting us by becoming 4PM's volunteers.

For those who didn't graduate and still come for the event, I would like to say 'thank you very the much!!!'. And also to those who you brought over like your family members and friends to celebrate this special occasion together. Appreciate it lots~~

A new year, a new beginning. 2008 has alot of good and bad memories (if there is any, i would like to apologise for it) for the students who came to our activities. A new batch will begin the same journey that you took last year. There will be changes, of course but that is for the new batch to find out. For the seniors (isn't it the correct term? You've graduated and they are considered your juniors for this programme rite? *winks*), don't feel jealous. Maybe I can extend an invitation to you, if i'm kind enough *evil laughter*

Lunar New Year just passed. How was your long holiday??? Did you go overseas? Or you just stayed home through out the 4 days???

Anyway, just to update you, the performers are very hype up for our upcoming event... What event you're asking??? Its actually the final event for 2008... It is also to wrap up all the events that were conducted in 2008...

I've sent out the invitation to you... Please check your letterbox... Not sure if you will be getting it by today... But do take note...

This event will be held at The Theatrette, The Grassroot's Club... Its actually just beside Yio Chu Kang MRT Station. Please block 7th February 2009 from other appointments wokay... It will start @ 4pm and will end roughly around 6.30pm. The theme is 'old school' so do dress up...

We are gonna have a rehearsal every Saturday. For this Saturday, it will be @ Hillock Amphi theater, 3pm. Where is it, you ask me??? Wokay, here's the details.

Please take the MRT & alight @ Tiong Bahru. After you tap, please exit to your right. After that, take bus 123 and alight on the 4th or the 5th bus stop. No worries if you missed the 4th bus stop. Its in a loop. You can still alight @ the 5th bus stop.

If you got lost of something, please dont hesitate to call kak dja. She's able to help you.

Remember on my last post, I did inform that Camp Voyage will be on December rite??? Wokay, details as follows:

Another reminder.... We've done the 1st round of groupwork at school rite... We have to do another groupwork to settle our Project Rentak Remaja programme... I've indicated on the letter that the groupwork will be on either Friday, 5th December or Saturday, 6th of December. Please call and inform me which days that you can make it... For this groupwork session, if all of you are coming, it will be a massive one. So you are able meet new people and make new frens... also after the groupwork session, there will be an induction on the camp itself. Its kinda important to come as we will be informing you of the things that you may need to look out for during camp. So, amcm???

Next week, my committee members and i will be making phone calls to make sure that you receive the letter and to RSVP for the groupwork and camp... Keep a look out k

It has been quite sumtime since I last blogged. Sowie... Sowie... Ramadhan on-Wheels just ended last month and now we are in the midst of planning for camp...

CAMP???!!! Did I just say camp???

YUP... its the annual Camp Voyage which was postponed from June till end of the year.

Anyway, this year's Camp Voyage will be add with a twist. It will be a bit different so watch out for it.

Ramadhan on-Wheels 2008

Yo all,

Need to take note of some changes for ROW. This Saturday will be the Induction Day. Venue change to ITE College West Ang Mo Kio. How to get there? Simple. If you are coming from Yio Chu Kang MRT, take bus 72 from interchange and alight the 4th bus stop, which is opposite of ITE CW AMK. If you are coming from Ang Mo Kio MRT, take bus 88 and alight the 5th bus stop, which is also opposite of ITE CW AMK.

Timing wise, it will still be from 1pm - 5.30pm.

For the packing day, it will still be on the 13th September, between 1pm - 5.30pm @ Eunos CC.

Lets say your parents or your family members are also interested to join, no problem. Please SMS in this format: ROW'08 to 98809040.

If you are thinking wat you wanna wear, no need to tink too hard. Please wear clothes that you are very comfortable with as we will be having alot of movement. Something casual will do.

Ramadhan on Wheels (ROW) 2008

Got a very special project that i wanna share with all of you.

For 2008, we will be doing Ramadhan on Wheels for our community service project. What's ROW you say? Its actually an annual programme organised by 4PM in which volunteers will be sending food hampers and vouchers to the low income families, to lighten up their mood and spirit for the festive season. Thus the theme for this year's ROW: 'Approaching with a heart'.

Currently we need volunteers to help in for this project. Below are the details:

30 August 2008 - Introduction
Place: Eunos CC. Time: 1.30pm - 5pm

13 September 2008 - Packing of the hampers
Place: to be advised. Time: 1.30pm - 5pm

20 September 2008 - ROW 2008
Flagging off place: ITE West Ang Mo Kio
Reporting time: 9am. Flagging off time: 12pm
Iftar place: Eunos CC.

We encourage those who are interested, to be able to come for all the 3 days mentioned above. We hope that new volunteers and old volunteers, young and old, are able to mingle and bond with each other. The best part is, we will have a variety of races and also religion coming together for this project.

groupwork 1 @ Hillgrove Sec Sch

Yoha all~~

On tuesday, 22nd July 2008, we did a groupwork session with Hillgrove students. A very hyper active bunch... Really had fun with them. The topic was 'The Great Me! Know more about myself'. We started off the session with the identity game. We played 6 different types of songs and they had to guess who listens to which type of music.

It was boys vs girls... for each of us, they managed to guess only 1 correct... Tough rite... haha haha... Its actually to show us that since the we dont know each other, it is better not to assume and label people by how they present themselves. As an instance, someone may look very demure with decent clothing but she listens to metal or even hardcore music. How do you digest that???

Then it was question and answer time. Each students were given 4 cue cards to draw according to the questions given... First was 'Describe 3 things about myself'. 2nd question was 'what makes me happy and what makes me sad'. 3rd question 'what are my strengths and weaknesses'. Last but not least, 'What are my dreams. What do I want to do when I grow up?'.

You may feel that the questions are lame and ridiculous. Even said that these questions are childish. But hey, all of you were kids once. You have your cute little dreams that you wanna achieve THEN but while growing up, did it really made you wanna go to that path OR suddenly, you just dont know what you wanna achieve in this life???

Dont be surprise coz alot of them had to tink for a while before able to answer the last question. It may be simple of childish but that is what differentiate between you who has goals, dreams and direction in life and those who are dreamless, no direction and purpose in life. These are the things that will make you move forward and will make you feel that life has a meaning and to pursue towards that direction.

After dat, we played a game named 'V-line'. Quite a tough game. It was supposed to be on a 3-storey high activity, bla bla bla... I kinda dont remember what it was supposed to be. Anyway, we played it by putting masking tape on the floor, and pair of students had to hold hands and not to let go til they reach the end, tip-toed. Here's the pictures:

After everybody had their turns, a de-brief session for all the activities that we did was done....

You see, teenage life is the phase in which all of us will have to go through before we become adults. It is also the time for the teenagers to find their own identity and say 'hey, look... This is me' very confidently to others.

Do a soul-search to find out what are the things that you really really wanna do and what you are good at. Sometimes, the talents that you have may not contribute on what you wanna do. Example, you have a talent in writing but you wanna do dancing. In this scenario, what do you think you will do? I do think that I want open up this topic for discussion here at blogspot.

The blood donation drive @ al-Iman Mosque went smoothly. It was my first time donating and I really feel good. In regards to this, I did a mini research on blood donation and hope that all of you will find it a good learning point and would like to donate blood in years to come. Here goes:

Who can donate?

Are between 16 and 60 years old;
Weigh at least 45 kg;
Have a haemoglobin level of at least 12.5 g/dl;
Are in generally good health;
Have not had any symptoms of infection for at least 1 week e.g. sore throat, cough, runny nose, diarrhea; and
Have not had a fever in the last 3 weeks.

When not to donate?

Fever with a temperature of more than 38ºC
Upper respiratory tract infections such as cold, flu, sore throat or any other symptoms of infection without fever
Dental work e.g. scaling or filing
Tooth extraction
Minor skin infection
Chickenpox exposure but NO infection
Close contact with hepatitis B
Infectious diseases such as chickenpox, measles or dengue fever
Tattoos, ear/body piercing, acupuncture or blood transfusions
When you are on medication/vaccination
Taken herbal supplements or traditional herbal remedies
Drug abuse
Recent release from prison/corrective institution or detention centre
Went overseas recently
Pregnant or heavy menstrual flow/menstrual cramp
Major illness like heart or lung disease, previous or current history of cancer or underwent major surgery
Who has autoimmune diseases
Diabetes who is required oral diabetic medicine or insulin
Who suffer from recurrent epileptic seizures and require medication to control their seizures
Who have suffered a recent episode of gouty arthritis
Hypertension who required anti-hypertensive drugs for blood control
AIDS or HIV infection
Hepatitis B/C
Syphilis or any type of venereal disease or sexually transmitted disease
Malaria

Rahmatan lil 'aalamin

Its a mass blood donation drive which is organized by all mosques in Singapore and is targeting to get 500 muslim blood pledges. Other than that, we also need 100 volunteers on that particular day to help out our guests alighting from buses and also during lunch time.

This July 9th, we will be hosting Mr Zulkifli Baharudin, Managing Director of Global Business Integrators Pte Ltd, a company which is involved in logistics and supply chain activities across Indonesia and Indo-china through its subsidiaries, Indo-Trans Logistics and PT FSA. He is also the Executive Chairman of Communication Design International Ltd and Indo-Trans Logistics, Vice Chairman of Mentor Media Ltd, and Director of Visweswara Properties Pte Ltd.

Mr Zulkifli was formerly a Nominated Member of Parliament and Chairman of Mercy Relief. arloe and welcome to yet another update by our department. Last Saturday, 17 May, we did managed to do another session of mentors' training. Would like to thank d mentors who sacrificed their Saturday Morning to do this session.

15 Mentors came and what i can say is dat they are a committed bunch.... am really happy and proud to be working with them...

Here's another groupwork 1 done @ Mad al-Arabiah. Title was the great me. You can see from the pictures that the students need to tink while answering the question... But what kind of questions you ask? HHmmmm.... Its simple questions like 'name 3 of your best characteristics', 'what makes you happy & sad?' and 'when you turn 21, what are the things that you accomplished?'

How are all of you? Anyway, we did our first groupwork for Siglap on 13 May 2008. Title was: Peer Pressure.

If we were to ask you all... What is peer pressure... Can you answer it fast? Or do you need to tink about it first? For all I know, we may be victims of it but we are not aware of it... Lets all be vigilant and help our friends who might be victims also... They may just keep quiet... But they have been through it for quite sum time already. Even for yourself... Do approach your mum or dad, which ever that you are comfortable to talk with, and share. Its not tattle tale but its more of helping and saving your own live. Do keep a look out wokay~

Mentor's interview

Hola...

Our nite cycling on the 19 & 20 April was a blast!!! Would like to thank the participants who came on dat day... without you, we cant proceed with the event.

Facilitators, even though some didnt came for the briefing, you still helped us to make this event a smooth one.

Safety Cyclists, without u, we wont be dat safe. Thank you for making our nite cycling a safe one. (even though some of the participants n faci did go through some casualties, we still made it til d end in one piece)

Safety Motorists, thank you for standing in between the traffic lights and made our cyclists not lost their way (did heard dat some of the groups still got lost though. so sowie bout dat)

Committees, you all rock!!! Thanx for all d effort dat you've all put in to really make this event a success...

For participants, here's another updates:

there will be shuttle bus from Eunos MRT to East Coast Park... d timing will be as follow:

1st trip: 6.15pm

2nd trip: 6.45pm

Last trip: 7.30pm

PS: there will be no other shuttle bus after 7.30pm. If ure late, do tink of sumting to reach East Coast Park by urself. Please take note.

If any of you, boys & gals, are coming with ur mummy or daddy, you can meet us up @ East Coast Park Burger King, Carpark C2

Do remember not to bring ur valuables. If you still wanna bring, it will be at ur own risk. We wont be held responsible for any loss item.

Today is such a beautiful day. With the sun smiling happily to us. Can even hear d beautiful melody of the birds chirping outside d office.

Sorry, again for the late updates on our programme. Last last week was the grand gala of our 60th Anniversary. Thank god as it was a smooth one.

Between 11.Feb til 07.Mar, we did 7 initiations at 7 schools. Still awaiting for another 2 schools to get back to us. Currently we're in d midst of doing the night cycling programme. Will send the letters to your schools soon. Lets pray dat this programme's gonna be a success, with no hiccups watsoever. Looking forward to meeting you all soon~~~

Hello, hello.

Firstly, I would like to say a great Happy Happy New year to all. I know this a lilttle late or should I say super-D duper late. Actually we've been busy with our own stuff and also busy cracking our heads to do alot more wonderful, succesful and fun learning activities/events for you people out there. So better join our events ey!

Secondly, we would like to call all youths or young adults of the age of 17 - 30 years of age to join our mentoring programme. Hmm, wanna know more about that you may call Nadia or Diana at this number 6242 6288. Call available from 9am to 5pm on Monday to Friday (except PH ). But before joining this mentoring programme you have to go through an interview.After that you may go for workshops, team buildings and induction but unfortunatly our induction had already taken place on January but but but, not too worry as we have more upcoming events lining up for you guys. Be sure not to miss it ok people!

Lastly, to all the mentors, volunteers and staffs of P2R & YIA+ I would like to say thank you on behalf of the other committee members for all your hardworks, sacrifices, dedication and support. There's no other word to describe you people. Without you guys there will be no P2R. Thank you again for making all the events a big success despite all the obstacle we went through but we all made it through together. Remember there's no I in TEAM.

Dusk to Dawn

Thanks to the chairman and nite cycling comm members for organising Dusk to Dawn 2007. I guess the mentees have enjoyed themselves cycling thru the nite and getting to know more friends, etc. It was a great turn out in terms of the number of volunteers (facilitators) as well as mentees.

It was a great sense of achievement for those mentees and volunteers who had completed a total of 47km.

Guess wat??? the youngest participant was a 9 year old kid who completed at least 27km....so its definitely not a mission impossible...

For those of you who missed the event....the participants were flagged off by our President Mr Izzuddin Taherally at Carpark C3 East Coast Road at about 10pm. Thereafter they had to cycle about 20km to Pasir ris carpark A, where they had supper and light activities. After rest, they cycled back to the ECP till 7.30am

Farewell to Kak Salha and Welcome to Kak Diana

hey guys...so much seemed to be happening in the month of November...sorry yeah havent had the oppportunity to update you guys on what happening.....

Anyway I would like to inform you guys that Kak Salha has left 4PM sob sob......well i guess she has decided to move on and continue as well as concentrate on her studies....we wish her all the best in her future endeavours....and she will be missed by us all.....

As we bid farewell to dear Kak Salha, I would like to welcome Kak Diana to our P2R Family. She will be joining us on the 12 of november...but some of you would have met her in our recent nite cycling event.....

to all the mentees...enjoy your school holidays and hope to see u guys participating in the exciting activities we have in nov.....take care for now....

Selamat hari raya aidilfitri, maaf zahir batin to all volunteers, mentors, mentees and friends. Lets take this time of celebrations to foster closer ties with our family, friends as well as closer bond between mentors and mentees. This is also a good time to seek forgiveness from friends and family and begin a new chapter for the coming months.

For those lucky one who are still eligible for collection....hmm i envy you.....hope the money will be put into good use......

For those who are not eligible for collection, that means its time for beri(tion)......dont be stingy yeah.....

Enjoy the raya with your loved ones......and for those students are in the midst of exams...don forget to set aside time to study yeah......good luck for your exams....

Ramadhan is here!

Ola peeps!!!

as you might know, or not :), Ramadhan is only a few days away
so, why not add more 'pahala' to your akhirat scale by joining our "Ramadhan on Wheels" event?!
K... you must be wondering... "What is that...?"
It is actually a day where we distribute food to families in need.
It will be held on 29th September 2007 from 9am to 9pm.
Meeting point will be at Tampines ITE
You must be wondering again.... "Wah! So long ah?!"
Fear not!
From 10am to ard noon, we will hold a briefing session where you will know your partners/groups/gang/company/troop/unit/band or whatever you wanna call it.
After which, we are gona do the house visit probably after zuhur til abt 6pm.
For the iftar, some of you will have the privilege of having it at one of the client's house/crib/residence/abode/quarters, while others will have it at the nearby mosque or Eunos Community Centre.
After iftar, we will have a debriefing session where you can pour out your feelings for the day...
Then... you can go back home :)
See... aint that simple:)

Hi All!!!

Thank GOD the HIP HOP Fiesta was Over!!!!
Phew!! That was a load off my shoulder!
Hehe...
But then, thanks to the support of all staffs, management and all to make this
experience unforgettable.
On a personal note, how can I forget, the determination, hard work, tears, sweat, anger, hunger, time and ideas of ALL my fellow volunteers. Without ALL of you, this thing will NEVER happen!

For all the mentors and mentees who filled our studio with the cheers and claps and those happy happy faces... you made everything worthwhile!

Hip Hop Fiesta Clinics

heloooo all......for those of you who have signed up for the hip hop fiesta on the 01.09.07......make sure you come for the hip hop clinics which will be on 18th August 2007 from 2 to 6pm. This would be a good chance for you to learn from the experts on how to dance and grafitti. For the dance, there will be a local group who will be teaching you .......as for the grafitti you will have Killer Gerbril....one of the popular local talents that singapore has.......

so make sure you don't waste the opportunity....be there at 2pm for registration and bring along your friends who are in the P2R / YIA+......especially those who are not joining the hip hop fiesta.....

The clinic will be held at Petal Gardens which is opposite the 4PM Office located at Blk 606 Bedok Reservoir Road.

Information for all....Hip Hop Fiesta 2007 will be held at Republic Polytechnic The Republic Cultural Centre (TRCC) with Guest of Honour Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Ministry of Environment and Water Resources and Minister in charge of Muslim Affairs. It will be a day of fun and excitement as we see 8 schools competing in dance, rap and grafitti. There will be local guest artiste performing on that day.....so come and bring your friends and families....

Alooo all students.....so how?? enjoying your school holidays thus far? Well i hope you all are! Anyway I am sooo looking forward to meet all of you at the Riuhan Kampong on 17.06.07. Yes guys, it is happening this Sunday at Taman Warisan. Please bring your friends and for those of you who have formed groups, please call me at 62426288. Your friends can be from any age group within the Secondary to Tertiary Level and the best of the all, all races are welcome. Remember kampung games were not only played by the Malays, but all races within the Kampong. By the way, there will be media coverage for the day insyallah (god willing) so the Raja Kampong might just be featured on TV.

Also, there will be Dr Muhd Faishal Ibrahim, MP for Marine Parade GRC as our Guest of Honour, not forgetting the Executive Committee members of 4PM.

Plus there will be free food for the participating schools. For the members of public, there will be a mini food fair where there will be exotic food to wet our appetite.

Salams to all....yeahhh finally the school hols are back..well i guess most of our students are happily lazing around, waking up late and enjoying going out with your friends and catching up on the latest movies, etc. How I envy your guys? Well guess what? The P2R / YIA+ committee has come up with an activity for all you students out there.......

If you a Secondary or Tertiary School Student, gather your friends and come down to Taman Warisan on the 17.06.07 for the Riuhan Kampong event. This is an event not to be missed especially if you want to learn more about the games played in the good old kampong days like keleret, bola centong, seret upih and many more. Best of all, its FREE. Attractive prizes await you and your schoolmates. Points will be awarded to participating schools and the school with the MOST points will be awarded the title RaJa kAmPoNg ........

So be sure to come down with your friends and your families as the event is open to public.

Heloo everyone....a few months have gone by since the blog has been updated...well i guess there are many reasons to that....but lets not go there shall we??

Well the important thing is that.....its from now on...its going to be updated regularly...promise promise...!!

I would like to give a warm welcome to all our mentees for 2007......woah its a big number of 203 this year.....I hope that you will have a fruitful journey whilst having fun!!

However, we are in great need of mentors as currently its standing at a sad number which does not seem to match the number of mentees....sighhh

Anyway we are very keen to recruit more volunteers to be our mentors......Come join US!!

Mass Interview

If you are interested in becoming a mentor to the youths in our programme but do not know how or when to apply, fret not.

On the 31st of March & 1st of April (Sat & Sun), the P2R & YIA+ team will be conducting a mass mentors interview.
You're of course more than welcome to come down and apply. And we will do the interview straight away.
Simple as that.

It will be held at 4PM's office, of course.

Blk 606, Bedok Reservoir Road, #01-716.
(The office is the void deck, the one nearer to the road. Please do not go to the kindergarten, ok)
